Heath Gunns – Outreach Manager

Heath has served HAVA as full time volunteer since 2008 during it’s very humble beginnings.  He now coordinates outreach, logistics, and event planning all over the U.S. and in some cases around the world.  His efforts include tirelessly protecting the HAVA mission as well as pre-planning and participation in HAVA shooting and hunting activities.  Prior to serving HAVA, Heath served as Marine, Law Enforcement professional and firearms instructor, among many other skills relevant to his role with HAVA.

Eva Carwile – Military Liaison

Eva played an integral role in HAVA’s founding by helping recruit wounded veterans for the first Family Day range event in 2008.  She has continuously volunteered for HAVA and is key in building and maintaining relationships with active duty and reserve units, and acting as an ambassador for the organization.  Eva served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years and currently works for the military assisting service members with understanding and accessing benefits

Christian Fleming – Event Manager/Instructor, LTSA

Chris became a volunteer in 2011 after working his first Family Day in San Antonio. After serving 8 years as a US Marine, Chris began working with the elite Blackwater organization. While completing operations in 2009 Chris was severely injured by an Improvised Explosive Device, resulting in the amputation of both legs below the knee. Chris has taken to shooting sports as a form of rehabilitation post injury. He competes in National Level shooting events, continues efforts as a defense contractor, and coordinates HAVA Family Day events, assists the Learn to Shoot Again Program and Hunts.

Rick Cicero – Manager/Lead Instructor, LTSA

After attending a HAVA event, Rick became a friend of HAVA and began working with those most severely wounded at shooting and training events.  This ultimately became HAVA’s Learn to Shoot Again program where he serves as the volunteer Manager and Lead Instructor.  Rick and the LTSA Team are developing training techniques, curriculums and programs that serve those with the most challenging physical injuries.  Rick is a former Army Special Operation Force Paratrooper, retired police officer, firearms instructor and canine handler.  He was injured as a military contractor, in Afghanistan when he encountered an IED which took his right arm and leg.
